FLOBIT.

Flobit vs Playtomic: what's the difference?

In short

Playtomic is a booking-first app: you reserve courts at partner clubs and join matches there. Flobit doesn't book courts. It is a free app for finding players, keeping live scores and running tournaments across eight sports. If you need a court, book it on Playtomic or with your club. If you need players, a scorekeeper or a bracket, use Flobit. You can use both.

What is Playtomic?

Playtomic is a racket-sports app for players and the clubs they play at. Playtomic's home page says you can "book courts and find matches from your phone", and it covers padel, tennis and pickleball.

What the player app does, according to Playtomic's own pages:

  • Court booking at partner clubs. The App Store listing mentions options to split the cost between players.
  • Matches. You can create a private match with friends, make it public to find new partners, or search for active matches nearby and join one.
  • Levels. A level estimation system puts each player on a scale from 0 to 7 and updates it from match results.
  • Leagues and tournaments, which the App Store listing also mentions.
  • Premium, a paid Playtomic subscription with advanced statistics, priority alerts and no service fee.

Clubs run their side in a separate product, Playtomic Manager, which the home page says helps them manage bookings, customers and court occupancy. The player app is a free download on iPhone and Android, and the App Store listing offers it in 13 languages.

What is Flobit?

Flobit is a free app for people who play: find players and open matches, keep live scores, run tournaments and organize communities. It is made in Baku, Azerbaijan, and runs on iPhone (iOS 17 or later), Apple Watch and the web at flobit.app. An Android version is coming soon. There are no ads and no subscription.

What it does:

  • Eight live sports: padel, tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, ultimate frisbee and eFootball. Badminton and pickleball are coming soon.
  • Open matches. A host posts the sport, rules, time and a city or venue, chooses who can join and can set a level range. Players nearby ask to join, and the host approves.
  • Quick Match. A lobby you share by an 8-character code, a QR code or a link. Guests can join without an account.
  • Live scoring. Point by point for tennis and padel, with undo, spoken score calls and offline Apple Watch scoring.
  • Tournaments. Single and double elimination, league, group stage plus knockout, and Mexicano, with referees and automatic trophies.
  • Ratings. A self-declared level and a per-sport ELO rating from confirmed results, plus a sportsmanship rating.

Flobit doesn't book courts and takes no payments for courts, entry fees or prizes. Its venue map shows courts, surfaces and directions, and you reserve with the club.

Where do Flobit and Playtomic differ?

The short version: Playtomic starts from the court and the club, and Flobit starts from the players and the game.

Booking and paying for the court

Playtomic books courts at partner clubs, and you pay through its payment flow, which shows the price and any service fee. Flobit has no booking. It lists venues with courts, surfaces and reviews, gives directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze or Yandex, and you reserve with the club or a booking app.

Finding players

A Playtomic match is tied to a court at a club: you make it public, or search active matches nearby and join one. Its help center says a competitive public match can have a level range, and a player outside it can ask for a place but needs the approval of the players already in the match.

On Flobit, a host posts an open match with the sport, rules, time and a city or venue, then decides who can join and whether there is a level range. Players within 50 km by default (5 to 100 km) ask to join, and the host approves each one. Flobit has no automatic matchmaking. You browse by sport and by time (today or this week), and there is no level filter, so read the host's level range, which is shown on the listing as guidance.

Sports, platforms and languages

Playtomic covers padel, tennis and pickleball on iPhone and Android, with 13 App Store languages (not Azerbaijani, Russian or Turkish). Flobit covers eight live sports on iPhone, Apple Watch and the web, in five languages; Android is coming soon.

How do levels, scoring and tournaments compare?

They overlap on levels and tournaments and diverge on scoring.

Levels

Playtomic's blog says its levels run from 0 to 7 and are calculated from match results and opponents. Flobit has two numbers. For padel and tennis you declare a level from 1.0 to 7.0 yourself, in LTA padel or USTA NTRP wording. A per-sport ELO rating starts from that level and moves with confirmed results: more in a player's first 10 matches, against the opponents' average in doubles, and reversed if a result is disputed. A separate 1 to 5 star sportsmanship rating sits alongside. The scales are built differently, so don't expect the same number on both. The padel levels guide explains Flobit's ladder.

Scoring

Playtomic's App Store listing describes tracking results: matches played, wins and losses, and final scores for a free account, with advanced statistics in Premium. Flobit's scorer is built for use during the game: point by point for tennis and padel (golden point, advantage or no-ad, super tiebreak), by game for table tennis, by set for volleyball, with a clock for basketball. It adds undo, spoken score calls in five languages for tennis and padel, and a public live page for friends.

Tournaments

Playtomic's listing mentions leagues and tournaments. Its help center for clubs describes Playtomic Manager tools for Americano, Mexicano and King of the Court (not a Flobit format), with automatic pairing, a live leaderboard and tournament chat. A service fee can apply when you enter.

On Flobit an organizer runs single or double elimination, a league, group stage plus knockout or Mexicano inside a community, with up to 20 referees and automatic trophies. Americano is not an in-app format; the free Americano generator builds that schedule. An entry fee can be displayed, but players pay the organizer offline.

Is Playtomic free, and is Flobit?

The Playtomic app is free to download, but booking or joining through it can cost more than the court. The club sets the court price. On top of that, Playtomic's terms say it charges a service fee when a reservation, a public match or a tournament entry is confirmed, and that the fee "is clearly visible in the payment flow and varies by country". A club may choose to cover the fee itself, in which case you see it as 0. The fee is not refunded if you cancel a reservation, but it is refunded if you withdraw from a public match or the match is cancelled.

Playtomic Premium subscribers don't pay the service fee. Premium also adds advanced statistics, priority alerts and promoted "Golden Matches", and Playtomic's terms say Premium subscriptions can't be refunded. Prices differ by country and store.

Flobit is free. There are no ads, no subscription and no service fee, because Flobit takes no payments for courts, entry fees or prizes: you pay the club directly. A tournament can show an entry fee, but the organizer collects it offline. Its App Store listing shows optional supporter tips, which unlock no features.

That isn't a like-for-like saving: Playtomic's fee comes with a booking and payment service, which Flobit doesn't offer.

Choose Playtomic if…

Pick Playtomic when the court is the hard part:

  • You want to reserve a court from your phone at a club that takes bookings through Playtomic, and pay there.
  • Your local clubs already use it. Playtomic's matches, leagues and tournaments happen at partner clubs, so check whether yours are listed.
  • You play pickleball. Playtomic lists pickleball courts today; on Flobit pickleball is coming soon.
  • You want Premium extras, such as advanced statistics, and no service fee on bookings.
  • You need an Android app today. Flobit's Android version is coming soon.
  • You prefer another language. Playtomic's App Store listing includes French, German, Italian and Portuguese among its 13 languages.
  • You manage a club. Playtomic Manager is built for bookings, customers and court occupancy. Flobit doesn't book courts or take payments for them, so it can't replace a club's booking system.

Choose Flobit if…

Pick Flobit when the people, the score or the event is the hard part:

  • You have a court and need players. Post an open match, or share a Quick Match code, and approve who joins.
  • You want live scores. Point by point for tennis and padel, spoken score calls, Apple Watch scoring that works offline and a public live page for friends who can't be there.
  • You organize games or events. Run a Mexicano night, a league, a group stage plus knockout or a bracket, with referees, lineups and trophies, and no service fee.
  • You play more than racket sports. Football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, ultimate frisbee and eFootball are live too.
  • You want it free, with no ads and no subscription.
  • You'd rather find people through a community than through one club. Communities have chat, member standings and a top-players podium.
  • You'd like the app in Azerbaijani, Russian or Turkish. Playtomic's App Store listing shows 13 languages without them.

Flobit's player base is only as strong as the number of players near you who use it, so an open match in a quiet area may take longer to fill. Posting to your own group, with a Quick Match code, doesn't depend on that.

Can you use Flobit and Playtomic together?

Yes. The two apps do different jobs and keep separate accounts and ratings, so nothing conflicts.

A routine that works:

  1. Book the court on Playtomic or with your club.
  2. Fill the spots on Flobit. Post an open match with the club as the venue, the time and a level range, then approve the players who ask. Or put a Quick Match code in your group chat; guests don't need an account.
  3. Keep score on Flobit, on your phone or Apple Watch. Results confirm automatically after 24 hours, or a player can dispute one within that window, and the ELO rating updates.
  4. Run the social night as a Mexicano in a community when you have a full set of players and a few courts.

For padel in particular, the best padel apps sets out which app suits which job.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free alternative to Playtomic for finding partners?

Yes, for finding players. Flobit is free, with no ads and no subscription, and lets a host post an open match for padel, tennis or six other sports. It isn't an alternative for booking: Flobit doesn't book courts, so you still reserve with your club or on Playtomic.

Is Playtomic free?

The app is free to download. According to Playtomic's terms, checked on 11 October 2026, a service fee that varies by country can be charged when a reservation, public match or tournament entry is confirmed, on top of the club's court price, unless the club covers it. Premium subscribers don't pay the fee. Flobit has no fees and no ads, and its App Store listing shows optional supporter tips that unlock no features.

Can I reserve a court on Flobit?

No. Flobit doesn't book courts or take payments for them. It has a venue map with courts, surfaces and reviews, plus directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze and Yandex. Reserve the court with your club or a booking app such as Playtomic, then use Flobit for players, scores and tournaments.

Does Flobit have levels like Playtomic?

Flobit has self-declared levels from 1.0 to 7.0 for padel and tennis, plus a per-sport ELO rating that moves with confirmed results. Playtomic uses its own 0 to 7 scale calculated from results. Is Playtomic only for padel?

No. Playtomic's home page lists padel, tennis and pickleball courts. Flobit has eight live sports (padel, tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, ultimate frisbee and eFootball), with badminton and pickleball coming soon.
