Padel Americano generator: schedule for 4 to 32 players
In short
This free generator builds a padel Americano schedule. Enter your players and courts and it lists every round: who partners whom, which court they play on and who rests. For 8, 12 or 16 players on enough courts, everyone partners everyone else exactly once. Copy the schedule to WhatsApp or print it. It runs in your browser.
One name per line, 4 to 32 players
Both teams' points added together
Suggested for this group: 7

Run a Mexicano night in FlobitHow do I use the Americano generator?
Type your players, choose courts and rounds, and press Generate. The schedule appears below the form, round by round.
- Add players. Type one name per line, from 4 to 32 players, or choose a number and press Fill in names to get Player 1, Player 2 and so on. Every name must be different.
- Choose the courts. One to eight. A court seats four, so spare courts stay empty: eight players on four courts use two.
- Choose points per match (16, 21, 24 or 32). This only changes the time estimate.
- Set the rounds. The box starts at the number we suggest for your group. Change it to fit your time slot, from 1 to 30.
- Press Generate. Each round shows the court, the two pairs and anyone resting. Shuffle again makes a different schedule with the same settings.
- Share it. Copy for WhatsApp pastes the whole schedule into a group chat, with each round in bold. Print keeps the rest of the page off the paper.
Your names stay in your browser; the generator doesn't send them anywhere. It makes the schedule, not the scores, so keep a score sheet beside it: each player adds their pair's points to their own total. The Americano guide covers scoring and tie-breaks.
How many rounds should an Americano have, and how long does it take?
For 8, 12 or 16 players on 2, 3 or 4 courts, the full rotation is one round fewer than the number of players: 7, 11 or 15 rounds. That is the length at which everyone has partnered everyone else once. For any other group the generator suggests players − 1 rounds up to 12 players, and 12 rounds above that, because a longer night is rarely playable.
| Players | Courts | Suggested rounds | Resting each round | About how long at 24 points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | 2 | 7 | 0 | 80–115 min |
| 10 | 2 | 9 | 2 | 100–150 min |
| 12 | 3 | 11 | 0 | 125–180 min |
| 16 | 4 | 15 | 0 | 170–245 min |
| 20 | 5 | 12 | 0 | 135–195 min |
The times are estimates, not promises. We assume 24 to 33 seconds a point plus 2 to 3 minutes between rounds. PadelOS gives about 10 minutes for a 24-point match and Padel Browser says games typically run 12 to 16 minutes, so plan around the top of each range.
A full 15 rounds for 16 players is a long evening. Set 8 to 10 rounds instead: with 8, 12 or 16 players on matching courts the first rounds of the full schedule are used, so nobody partners the same person twice.
Will everyone partner everyone?
With 8, 12 or 16 players on 2, 3 or 4 courts, yes. The generator uses a whist tournament: a fixed design in which, over a full rotation, every pair of players are partners exactly once and opponents exactly twice. Designs like this exist for every number of players divisible by four. These three are built in, and Shuffle again changes who sits where in the design, so the pairings differ but the fairness doesn't.
Every other group is built round by round. The players who have rested least rest next, then the rest are paired to repeat as few partners and opponents as possible. The generator tries about 200 arrangements for each round and keeps the best one. It can't always avoid a repeat, so on a long night two people may partner twice, but it keeps repeats rare.
What if the number of players isn't a multiple of four?
Someone rests every round. A court seats four, so the others sit out: with 9 players on 2 courts one rests, with 10 players two rest. The generator rests those who have rested least, so nobody rests twice before everyone has rested once, and rest counts never differ by more than one.
Totals are only fair when everyone rests the same number of times. That happens when rounds multiplied by the players resting each round is a multiple of the number of players:
- 9 players on 2 courts: 9 rounds, one rest each.
- 10 players on 2 courts: 5 rounds, one rest each.
- 6 players on 1 court: 3 rounds, one rest each.
Otherwise, rank by average points per round played and say so before the first serve. For fewer than 8 players, Padel Browser suggests a round robin or a Mexicano instead; the round-robin generator builds the first.
How many points should each match go to?
Choose 16, 21, 24 or 32. Padel Browser lists 16, 21 and 24 as common targets and PadelOS lists 16, 24 and 32, so the generator offers all four. Points per match means both teams' points added together: a match to 24 ends at 14–10 and every court finishes after 24 rallies.
| Points | Minutes per round | 8 players, 7 rounds |
|---|---|---|
| 16 | 8–12 | 55–85 min |
| 21 | 10–15 | 70–105 min |
| 24 | 12–16 | 80–115 min |
| 32 | 15–21 | 100–145 min |
A short match keeps a big group moving, but each point matters more, so results swing more on luck. A longer match lets the better pair show, and needs more time. Pick the target from your slot, not the other way round.
Americano or Mexicano: which should I run?
An Americano follows a schedule fixed before the first serve, which is what this page gives you. A Mexicano draws each round from the standings, so games get closer when levels differ. Both score every player individually. Choose Americano when the group is of similar level or the aim is to mix everyone.
Flobit runs Mexicano, not Americano. In a Mexicano tournament you choose the courts and rounds, whether a match is first to N or a combined N, and whether the leaderboard counts points or margin. Matches are scored live in the app and the leaderboard follows the results. Use this generator for the schedule and a score sheet; use the app when you want live scores and an automatic leaderboard. Tournaments in Flobit lists the options, and the padel page covers the rest of what the app does for padel.
Frequently asked questions
What is a padel Americano generator?
A tool that writes the schedule for an Americano night: for every round, which four players share each court, who partners whom and who rests. Players change partner every round and score individually. This one is free, runs in your browser, and handles 4 to 32 players on 1 to 8 courts.
How many rounds should an Americano have?
For 8, 12 or 16 players on matching courts, a full rotation is 7, 11 or 15 rounds, so everyone partners everyone once. For other groups the generator suggests players − 1 rounds up to 12 players and 12 above that. Shorter is fine: pick the number of rounds that fits your time slot and tell players in advance.
Can I use it with an odd number of players?
Yes. Whoever doesn't fit on a court rests, and the generator rotates the rests so counts never differ by more than one. For equal rests, choose rounds so that rounds × players resting per round is a multiple of your player count: 9 players on 2 courts for 9 rounds, or 10 players on 2 courts for 5.
How do I send the schedule to the group?
Press Copy for WhatsApp and paste into the chat. Each round is a bold heading followed by one line per court, with a resting line when someone sits out. Print gives a clean page for the courtside wall. If your browser blocks copying, the text appears below the button to select and copy by hand.
Is the Americano generator free?
Yes. It is free, has no sign-up and no ads, and the names you type stay in your browser. It builds the schedule only. For scores, keep a sheet or run a Mexicano in Flobit, which is free too and keeps a live leaderboard.
Can I run an Americano in Flobit?
No. Flobit runs Mexicano tournaments, not Americano. Use this generator for the Americano schedule and score on paper. In the app, a Mexicano has partners that change every round, a leaderboard by points or margin, live scoring, and your choice of courts and rounds.
Does shuffling change how fair the schedule is?
No. For 8, 12 and 16 players, Shuffle again moves names around inside the same fair design, so everyone still partners everyone once. For other groups, each shuffle builds a new schedule with the same rule: rests are shared out first, then repeats are kept to a minimum. Press it until you like the first round.
