FLOBIT.

Is badminton on Flobit yet?

In short

Not yet. Badminton is coming soon to Flobit, but it isn't in the app today, so you can't post badminton matches or run a badminton tournament there yet. Flobit hasn't announced a date or the exact formats. Until it arrives, you can organize games with the guides below, or use Flobit for padel, tennis or table tennis.

Coming soon to Flobit

Badminton isn't in the app yet. Everything else on this page works today in the other sports.

Is badminton available on Flobit?

No. Badminton is coming soon and isn't live. In the app today you can't choose badminton when you post an open match, start a Quick Match or create a tournament. Eight sports are live: padel, tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, ultimate frisbee and eFootball. You can see them all on the sports page.

This page exists so you know where badminton stands, and so you have something useful to do while you wait. Nothing on it is a launch announcement.

What can badminton players expect from Flobit?

Badminton is meant to join the other sports, so expect the same kinds of tools. For any live sport today you can:

  • Find players. Post an open match with the time, the place and an optional level range. Players within your search radius ask to join, and you approve who plays.
  • Start a game fast. A Quick Match is a lobby you share with an 8-character code, a QR code or a flobit.app/join link.
  • Keep score. Live scoring works point by point, with undo, and a rating builds from confirmed results.
  • Run events. Tournaments run inside a community, with brackets, leagues and referees.

Flobit hasn't announced a date, the formats or the features for badminton, so treat this as direction, not a promise.

How can I organize badminton games until then?

Do it the way a good club night works, and keep the admin in one place.

  • Fix a slot and a court. Book the hall through the venue or your club. Flobit doesn't book courts.
  • Count your courts. A doubles game needs four players per court, so a court seats four at a time.

  • Rotate fairly. When someone has to sit out, rotate it so everyone gets the same amount of play. With four players, three games let everyone partner everyone once. With five on one court, play five games and let a different person sit out each time. For a bigger night where everyone plays everyone, the round robin schedule guide explains how many matches you need and how to build the rounds, and the free round robin generator lays them out.
  • Keep one list. Use one place to say who is in, and set a confirmation deadline, so the group isn't scrolling a chat to count heads. The guide to organizing pickup games has a message you can copy.

The same approach works for a small tournament: pick a format, count the matches, and publish the schedule before the day. Tournament formats compares the options.

How do eight players share two courts so everyone partners everyone?

Play seven rounds. In each round the eight players form four pairs, two pairs meet on each court, and over the seven rounds every player partners every other player exactly once. Number the players 1 to 8 (draw the numbers from a hat) and follow the table.

RoundCourt 1Court 2
11+8 v 2+73+6 v 4+5
21+7 v 6+82+5 v 3+4
31+6 v 5+74+8 v 2+3

51+4 v 3+52+6 v 7+8
61+3 v 2+45+8 v 6+7
71+2 v 3+84+7 v 5+6

Give each round a fixed length, such as one game to 21 or a 15-minute timer, so the courts change over together. At 15 minutes a round, the night takes under two hours. Opponents are not perfectly evened out, so if you want a leaderboard, add up the points each player won across the night instead of counting match wins. With a different number of players, the round robin schedule guide shows how to build the rounds.

How does badminton scoring work right now?

Badminton uses rally scoring, where every rally scores a point. Under the BWF Laws in force today, a game is played to 21 points, a match is best of three games, and at 29-all the side that scores the 30th point wins. From 4 January 2027 the BWF Laws change to three games of 15 points each. The badminton scoring guide explains both systems, the serving courts and the doubles service rules.

Which racket sports can I use on Flobit today?

Three racket sports are live. Padel and tennis are scored point by point, with levels from 1.0 to 7.0, and table tennis is scored game by game, with best-of formats and doubles. Each has open matches to find a partner or a doubles four, Quick Match lobbies, ratings and tournaments, so a racket group can start using Flobit today and add badminton when it arrives.
