Pickleball app: score games, find players and run tournaments
In short
Yes. Pickleball is live on Flobit for iPhone and Apple Watch. You score singles or doubles point by point with side-out or rally scoring, follow the serve and the server number with a tracker, post an open match, start a Quick Match or run a tournament, Mexicano included. Games go to 11, 15 or 21 and are won by 2. Flobit is free, with no ads.
Is pickleball available on Flobit?
Yes. Pickleball is one of ten sports on Flobit: padel, tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, ultimate frisbee, eFootball, badminton and pickleball. Choose pickleball when you post an open match, start a Quick Match or create a tournament. The sports page lists them all.
Flobit runs on iPhone (iOS 17 or later, version 1.0.4 or later) and on Apple Watch. It is free to use, with no ads. Flobit Plus is an optional subscription for advanced stats and a Plus badge. Android is coming soon. The web app does not support pickleball scoring.
What does Flobit do for pickleball players?
You can score a game, find people to play it with and run an event, all from your phone.
- Score point by point, with undo. Singles or doubles; doubles is the default. In side-out scoring only the serving side scores, so when the serving side loses a rally you tap Lost rally and the serve moves on. In rally scoring every rally scores. If you start tracking late, "Update score" lets you enter the finished games and the game in play, with checks against the rules.
- Follow the serve. A serve tracker shows which side is serving and from which court. In side-out doubles it shows the server number, with a line such as "0-0-2" at the start of a game, then "Second server" and "Side out". "Who's serving?" lets the scorer correct the server, the server number or the side. It shows on the scorer's phone and Apple Watch.
- Score from the court. Apple Watch scoring, a Live Activity and a courtside mode on iPhone. On the watch, a tap on the receiving side counts as a lost rally.
- Find players and run events. Open matches and tournaments work as they do for the other sports, and a referee can record timeouts.
- Track your level. Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, plus a rating for pickleball that builds from confirmed results.
The formats you can pick, every one with a win by 2 and no cap, in singles and doubles:
| Scoring | Formats |
|---|---|
| Side-out | One game to 11, 15 or 21; best of three to 11; best of five to 11 |
| Rally | One game to 11, 15 or 21; best of three to 11 or 15 |
Some things aren't in the app, so you don't wait for them. Flobit doesn't speak the score aloud for pickleball (spoken score calls are for tennis and padel only), does not track kitchen faults, has no DUPR or USA Pickleball rating, doesn't time breaks or timeouts, and doesn't book courts. The web app doesn't score pickleball, and other people can't see the server number, because the serve is recorded on the scorer's own phone and watch.
How can I find pickleball players to play with?
Post an open match, and use the places where players already gather.
- Post an open match. Choose pickleball, singles or doubles, side-out or rally scoring and the game length, then set the time, the place, whether men, women or anyone can join, and an optional level range. Players within 50 km of the match (you can set 5 to 100 km) ask to join, and you approve each request. The level range is guidance, not a rule, and nothing in Flobit matches you with players automatically.
- Ask at the courts. Open play sessions at a club, recreation centre or park are the quickest way in. Players there know who plays when, and which sessions suit beginners.
- Join your local group chats. Most areas have one. Ask in it for a regular game at your level.
- Invite people you know. Four friends are enough for doubles, and a group of eight fills two courts. A Quick Match lobby gets them into one game with a code, a QR code or a link.
Flobit doesn't book courts, so you still arrange the court yourself.
How can I organize a pickleball night?
Treat a court as four seats and plan around that.
- Cap the sign-ups. Four players fit on a court, so a night on two courts takes eight, and ten is two too many for two courts. Decide in advance what happens to the extras: a waitlist, or a rotation in which two sit out each round.
- Confirm in one place. Ask people to say yes or no by a set time, so you are not counting thumbs-up emojis in a chat the hour before. The guide to stopping no-shows has a message you can copy.
- Rotate partners. Changing partners every round keeps a mixed-level group happy. In Flobit you can create a Mexicano tournament, where partners change each round and the leaderboard updates as scores come in. The free pickleball rotation generator writes the rounds for 4 to 32 players on up to eight courts and tells you who sits out, if you only need a schedule.
- Run a proper event. For a small tournament, the pickleball round robin guide compares formats and shows how long each takes, and the tournament formats guide covers knockouts and leagues.
Then read the scoring and rules before your first game: the pickleball scoring guide explains side-out and rally scoring, and the pickleball rules guide covers the serve and the kitchen.
What are the basics of pickleball scoring?
The short version: a game is played to 11, 15 or 21 points and must be won by 2. In traditional side-out scoring only the serving side can score. Rally scoring, an option in the USA Pickleball rulebook, awards a point to whichever side wins the rally. The tournament options in the 2026 USA Pickleball Official Rulebook are in section 15.C, and all of them are win by two points, with an exception for team play.
Casual groups usually play one game to 11, and a game to 15 or 21 suits a longer slot. In Flobit you choose side-out or rally scoring for each match, and the match card says which one it is. The pickleball scoring guide has the detail, including how the server number works.
If you are new to racket sports, padel vs pickleball compares the two, and pickleball levels helps you place yourself honestly before you join a game.
Which racket sports can I use on Flobit today?
Five racket sports are live. Padel and tennis are scored point by point, table tennis and badminton game by game, and pickleball point by point with side-out or rally scoring. All of them have singles and doubles, open matches, Quick Match lobbies, ratings and tournaments, so a racket group can use Flobit for whichever sport it plays.
