Padel tournaments, leagues and players in Qatar
In short
Amateurs in Doha can enter community events from the Qatar Sports for All Federation, such as the men's padel tournament it holds in November 2026, registered through the QSFA app. Ramadan nights and club socials fill the rest of the year. Playtomic is the usual way to book courts; to find players, use a club social, a group or a Flobit open match.
Who runs padel tournaments and leagues in Doha?
Amateur padel in Qatar is run by a federation for community sport, by developers and clubs, and by informal groups. Facts below were checked on 2 November 2026.
- Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA). It works under the Ministry of Sports and Youth and says it organises more than 850 events a year across sports and ages. Its men's community padel tournament is held from 8 to 10 November 2026 at the Platinum Padel courts at Al Sadd Sports Club, for players aged 16 and over. Registration is through the QSFA mobile app and was open by 12 October 2026. The announcement did not name categories or a closing date. Watch the QSFA app for the next one.
- United Development Company (UDC). The developer of The Pearl Island runs the Pearl Island Ramadan Padel Tournament, now in its third edition (see the Ramadan section).
- Universities. In October 2026 the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation ran a four-day padel competition for university teams, with men's and women's divisions.
- Clubs and hotels. Playtomic lists many Doha clubs. Some hotels and independent venues take bookings through their own apps, websites, phone numbers or WhatsApp.
We did not find a public, current league table for amateur padel in Qatar. If you want a league, plan one with your group (see the last section).
What is the FIP World Cup in Doha, and can amateurs enter?
It is a national-teams event for professionals, so amateurs watch rather than enter. The FIP World Cup Qatar 2026 is held from 2 to 7 November 2026 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, with 32 national teams: 16 men's and 16 women's. It is the world team championship, and you may also see it called the world padel championships. The International Padel Federation (FIP) has also given Qatar the 2028 edition.
Why it matters to an amateur:
- More attention on the sport. Expect more people to ask where to play in the weeks around it.
- No clash with community events. The QSFA men's tournament follows straight after, from 8 November 2026.
- Search noise. Queries like "padel tournament doha" mix pro events with amateur ones. Add "amateur" or "community" and the organiser's name to find entry pages.
This guide covers amateur play. For the pro schedule, use FIP's own event pages.
How do I join an amateur padel tournament in Doha?
Follow the organiser's registration route, which differs for each event. For QSFA events that means the QSFA app. For a club or developer event, it is usually the club's page or an app it announces.
- Find the event. Check QSFA's announcements (QNA publishes them), your club's page and your group chats.
- Read the eligibility. The QSFA men's tournament is for ages 16 and over. Ask about category and level before you pay anything.
- Register early. Events with a fixed number of teams can fill. Ask whether there is a waitlist.
- Bring a partner or ask for one. Padel is played in pairs, so many events want a team.
Court costs matter when you practise. Qatar Living's guide to padel in Qatar reports a standard court at QAR 150 to 300 per hour, which is about QAR 40 to 75 per player when four share it. Racket rental is typically QAR 30 to 50 per session. Prices differ by venue, so confirm them first.
If you run your own event instead, the checklist is in how to organize a padel tournament. It covers the format, the number of courts and the minutes you need.
How do I find padel players in Doha?
Mix venue socials, a group chat and an app. People in Qatar search for "padel whatsapp group" with Qatar in the phrase, so groups clearly exist. They are easy to join if you know someone, and hard to search.
Apps and groups for casual play. Qatar Living's roundup of casual sports names two Qatar-focused apps, Sports Social and Plus 1 Sports, built so individuals can join matches without organising a group. It says they cover padel as well as football and basketball. It also lists Meetup groups, such as Qatar Footballers United, for football.
Playtomic lists many Doha clubs, per Qatar Living's padel guide. Use it for courts.
Flobit open matches are for finding the other players. Once you have a court from the venue, post an open match with the sport, the venue or area, the time, who can join (anyone, men, women or mixed) and an optional level range. The range is guidance: you approve each request. Players within 50 km can express interest. There is no automatic matchmaking, and no level filter when browsing. Flobit is new in Qatar, so you may need to post the first match and share it in your group. See open matches.
Guests (players without an account) can join Quick Match lobbies and tournaments, but not open matches.
Are there Ramadan padel tournaments in Qatar?
Yes, and they are night events. The best-documented one is UDC's Pearl Island Ramadan Padel Tournament. The third edition, reported on 27 February 2026, had 32 teams and ran from 22 February to 3 March 2026 at the Pearl Island's padel courts in Fanar Fayrouz. Matches started at 9 pm each evening. It was a men's tournament.
What that tells an organiser:
- Start late and finish by a set time. A 9 pm start is normal in Ramadan.
- Cap the field. 32 teams is a clear number to plan around.
- Publish the draw early. Players schedule sleep and meals around the matches.
If you are planning one for 2027, Ramadan moves about ten days earlier each year. Confirm the date locally before you set one. A Mexicano night works well for a group that wants guaranteed matches in a short window: everyone plays, with sit-outs rotating if the numbers don't divide by four. See the Mexicano guide and the Mexicano generator.
Where do people play pickleball in Doha?
Mostly through Reclub clubs. Reclub is a social-sports app where clubs post sessions and members sign up. On 2 November 2026 its Pickleball League-Qatar club showed 1,494 members and 161 activities, and described itself as open to all ability levels. It lists weekly sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7 pm. The Doha Pickleball Society also runs on Reclub.
Those numbers change daily, so treat them as a snapshot. Reclub is the established place to find sessions. Flobit is not a replacement for it, and it does not promise court discovery for pickleball, so find courts elsewhere.
Pickleball is live in Flobit. You can post an open match, start a Quick Match, or create a tournament, including Mexicano. Scoring covers singles and doubles with a serve tracker on the scorer's phone and Apple Watch. Levels use Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Flobit does not show DUPR ratings. For the rules, read the pickleball rules guide.
How does Flobit help padel players in Qatar?
Flobit works alongside your venue and Playtomic. It does not book courts, and it takes no payments for courts, entry fees or prizes.
- Post an open match for a court you booked, and approve who joins.
- Run a tournament with Men, Women, Mixed or Open categories, a cap of 2 to 512 entries, approvals and a waitlist. Formats are single or double elimination, league, groups then knockout, or Mexicano. The entry fee is displayed only, and you collect it yourself. See tournaments.
- Score it live, point by point with the golden point, on iPhone, Apple Watch (works offline) or the web. Each match has a public live page.
- Message players with a roster formatted for WhatsApp or Telegram, and contact the organizer by WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, call or SMS.
Flobit is free to use and has no ads. Flobit Plus is an optional subscription for advanced stats and a Plus badge, and it gives no advantage in matches or tournaments. It runs on iPhone, Apple Watch and flobit.app. Android is coming soon. The app is in English (plus Azerbaijani, Russian, Turkish and Spanish), not Arabic. For the UAE, read padel in the UAE.
